Since this is an early beta release of this integration, please, contact our support team before attempting to follow the instructions in this article. We can help you with your setup over a short call.

Requirements

Before you integrate My Hours and Jira Cloud you need to have an account set up in both apps.

You need to be an admin or account owner in My Hours to enable the integration.

You need sufficient permissions in Jira to manage connected apps (Jira System Administrator or similar).

How it works

The integration enables a one-way sync of Projects and associated Issues from Jira to My Hours.

Since the integration is one-way, no new issues are ever created in Jira. New entities will only be created in your My Hours account.

Note: renaming an issue in Jira will cause the integration to create a new entity in My Hours

Recommended settings

We recommend you map Jira epics to My Hours projects and the various Jira issue types to My Hours tasks.

The integration will create new projects and tasks in My Hours so you can track time on them.

If you enable automatic sync, new projects and tasks will be created in My Hours automatically when you create new items in Jira.

Note: Jira IDs are currently not imported but this will be added in an upcoming update.

Integration settings

Go to Settings > Integrations > Jira in My Hours to connect the apps.

  1. Click the 'Authenticate' button:

2. Accept the required permissions:

3. Map your Jira entities to My Hours entities:

4. Optionally enable 'Automatic sync' which will auto-import new items as they are created in Jira:

5. Click 'Save' to save the configuration:

6. You can now import your items from Jira into My Hours using Start import:

Note: you need to manually import existing Jira items even when using automatic sync. Automatic sync will only work for newly created Jira items.

Please contact us at [email protected] if you need any assistance and we'll be glad to help!

Deactivating the integration

Click 'Deactivate Jira Integration' to remove it.

Removing imported clients, projects and tasks must be done manually at this time. Please contact us at [email protected] if you need any assistance.
