If you are using the same task list on different projects, you can create task templates. This way you can quickly add a task list to your projects.
Once a task from the templates is added to a project, you can edit it independently in each project and this will not affect the same task in other projects.
Please go to Settings > Task templates to create and manage task templates.
How it works?
You need to enter a Task list name for each of your task templates.
Task templates with the same Task list name will be automatically grouped in the same Task list.
When adding templates to the projects, you will select a Task list, not individual tasks. This means all task templates from the same Task list will be added at once.
The task description that you enter on a task template, will be shown on the task when added to the project. It will also be displayed for users in the Task dropdown on the Track page.
Here's how the task list and task look when added to the project:
And in the Track dropdown:
If you wish to set the task as non-billable by default, remove the 'Billable by default' option:
This means the task from this template will always be created as non-billable on projects, but you can manually edit it on individual projects and change it to billable if needed.
When creating a task template you can set it to be automatically added to all new projects:
If you wish to add a task from the task templates to all existing projects, you can do this here:
You will be able to edit your task template when needed:
IMPORTANT: Please note that only the template will be updated when editing a task template. Updating the template will not update the tasks in projects. Tasks in the projects are independent of the task templates and one another.
