To manage existing projects or add a new project, please visit the Projects tab. You can add a new project by clicking '+' in the upper right corner:
If you need to add your Clients first, please visit the Account tab:
Billable settings
When creating a project, you will be abe to set a billable method for it:
If you select a User-based rate, you will need to enter a billable rate for each User in the Manage section of the Account tab:
If you select a Task-based rate, you will be able to enter a billable rate for each Tasks, when adding them to projects:
If you select a Project-based rate, this means all logs on the project will be billed at the same rate, regardless of tasks or users performing them:
Set a Budget
You can also set a budget for your project, here:
There are different options for setting the project budget, check this article to learn more about budgeting in My Hours.
Add Users
Once you have created the project, you can add Users to it here:
Only users who are assigned to the project will be able to enter the time on a project. Unassigned users can't track time on a project.
If there are no users to select from, you need to invite them to join the account first. This can be done in the Account tab:
Add Tasks
Tasks can be added to your project here:
When adding tasks, you will be able to set rates for them (if your billable method is task-based rate) and add a budget for each task (if your budget is set on Tasks).
It is also possible to assign specific tasks to specific users.
When one or more users are assigned to a specific task, only they can enter time against that task. The task will not appear as an option in the dropdown of the Track view for unassigned users.
When no one is assigned to a task, all users assigned to the project can enter time against the task.
If you expect to have the same set of tasks across multiple projects, you can create Task templates here:
Set rounding of time for the billing
You can choose to round your time for billing purposes. Please go to 'Edit project' to set the rounding. You can set the tracked time to be either round-up, round-down, or round to the nearest interval.
For example, this will come in handy, if you bill in 15-minute increments and do not wish to show the exact tracked time in the reports or use the exact time when preparing an invoice. For your purposes, the actual duration will of course still be preserved.
Set required approval
Please go to 'Edit project' to set the required approval for the project.
If you select 'Require approval' this means that all logs entered on a project will have a Pending status until they are approved by Administrator or a Manager with correct privileges.
